July has arrived! And Brattleboro has entered into Independent Retailer Month along with other downtowns across the country to encourage people to shop local. Our campaign, Buy Local Bratt, aims to boost Brattleboro’s downtown economy this summer. The statistics are out, the organization Civic Economics has found:
“For every $100 spent locally, at least $68 of that stays in the local economy. That means each dollar you spent at an independent business returns three times more money to your local economy than a dollar spent at a national chain.”
When you shop in downtown Brattleboro, your money goes back to donation drives for your schools, your community groups, and your neighbors. Support your home by supporting Brattleboro’s Independent Businesses!
